Nigel Russell gets a buzz from working with people who can be anywhere. Whether it is distance education techniques with the nomadic families of Mongolia's Gobi Desert or business skills to remote businesses! Wooing people and organisations to bring about the changes they need brings Nigel the greatest satisfaction. Carla Rogers loves working with a global clientele from a coastal village on the east coast of Australia, where she enjoys ocean views from her office. After comparing notes, they discovered that they were both frequently asked, when it comes to working at a distance, "HOW do you do this remotely while making it seem so natural and easy?" From this conversation, NoMad Meetings was born, where Carla and Nigel coach and mentor and facilitate and train others in how to engage and collaborate with people wherever they are. And facilitation - face to face, or at a distance - has changed for the better for both of them and for NoMad Clients. They also get to share their passions for the benefits of running a business virtually. They will often complete project never physically meeting their clients yet "meeting" with them regularly in a way that is natural and easy – where the technology takes a back seat. Knowing how to work at a distance also brings benefits to their face to face facilitation events.
Nigel has been doing stuff at a distance for over 20 years - broadcasting, instructional design of multimedia, distance education, e-learning, coaching and webinars. From large enterprises, public and private organisations through to small businesses and individuals - developing others and bringing about change are the results of Nigel's work.
She has created Meeting Marketplace, a highly acclaimed approach to large meeting facilitation, and has been recognised for the quality and originality of her work through a Churchill Fellowship, as well as international, national, state and ministerial Awards for Excellence.
